FAQs

Q. My child plays for a team; can they still attend their club team training and games as well as Barnabas Soccer School sessions?

Of course, we encourage all members to continue to play with their current club team.

Q. My child has no experience of playing football. Does this matter?

Not at all. Whether your child is new to the game or an experienced player they are more than welcome to join us.

Q. Can my child have a free taster before registering?

Yes, we offer all potential new members a free, no obligation taster session to see if they enjoy what we do. As a registered charity we do not charge a fee but instead ask for a donation. See the donation page or speak to one of our coaches for full details.

Q. How do I book my child’s taster session?

Contact Head Coach Matt Day via our Contacts Page.

Q. What should my child wear to their taster session?

Comfortable footwear and light sports clothing. Please also bring a drink.

Q. When will my child receive their training kit?

Once we have received your child’s registration form we will order their kit which usually arrives within 1 – 2 weeks.

Q. Are sessions year round?

Yes, with the exception of Christmas, Easter Saturday and a few weeks in the Summer Holidays.

Q. Do parents need to stay and watch?

For players aged 7 and below parent/guardians are required to stay as it is always reassuring for the child knowing their parent/guardian is close by. If for any reason you are unable to stay for the session, a responsible adult (aged 16+) must be present. Parents do not need to stay for players 8 and over but you are always welcome to stay and watch the training session.
